Here is a sneak preview of Sarah’s Family portrait session in which we took over the weekend in Epping Forest, just near to Baldwins Hill in Loughton. I first met Sarah and Anis when I photographed their wedding last November at The Manor of Groves. Ever since Sarah has been keen to have a less formal portrait session of her family. We all had some fun squishing through the mud and the photos look fabulous! Here are a few of my favourite.

Charlotte and Justine chose a contemporary Graphistudio story book which was finished in black leather and designed by myself. I also could not resist re posting some of the photographs I took of Charlotte with my Fathers old Rollieflex!

His drive to push technology to its limits was commendable. Steve Jobs will be missed, but his legacy will live on.

It is with great sadness that I remember the innovation, vision and dedication to excellence exuded by Steve Jobs who passed away early today. Town and Country Photographic uses solely Apple Mac computers and his passing made me reflect on the way he changed the computer and technology world.

Steve Jobs was the inspiration for many of the innovations we now take for granted in today’s computing world and also the many successful Apple endeavors over the past 20 years.

His drive to push technology to its limits was commendable. Steve Jobs will be missed, but his legacy will live on.

With deepest condolences to the Jobs family and everyone at Apple.

These cameras where the fashion and press photographers camera of choice throughout the 1960's

Every now and again I feel the urge to go back to basics, just so I know I still have “the touch”. Recently I decided to dust off my father’s 1962 Rolleiflex 3.5E Planar and bring it along to Charlotte and Justin’s wedding. These cameras where the fashion and press photographers camera of choice throughout the 1960′s and used by such great photographers as Bailey, Lategan and Donovan (not forgetting my dad of course). They are simply a joy to use.

Each exposure has to count as there is only 12 frames per roll of film, so no “peppering the subject”. Get it right first time is the rule. I love the way the Rolleifex slows down the way I work. There are no electronic aids such as auto focus or automatic exposure controls, everything is set manually. But the quality of the image just shines through.

My thanks to Charlotte and Justin for indulging me!

Gemma and James's day was made all the more special for me because two previous brides who's wedding I had photographed where at the wedding.

I had the most wonderful day last Saturday at Gemma and James’s Wedding. The day started at Gemma’s parent’s house where all the girls prepared for the day, before heading to Pledgdon Barn in Henham for the wedding. Gemma looked simply gorgeous in her gown and wowed all the guests when she made her entrance for their ceremony.

Gemma and James’s day was made all the more special for me because two previous brides who’s wedding I had photographed where at the wedding. It was so good to catch up with Lindsey and Victoria again, Lindsey and David where married in 2010 at Parklands, Quendon Hall and Victoria and Andrew where married in 2009, also at Parklands. I had to take the photograph below of the three girls together!

These albums are reason enough why couples who are looking for simply the most beautiful way to remember their wedding day should look very closely for photographers, like us, who offer Queensberry Albums.

Here are some images of a few small feature albums we have recently completed for a client. I thought I would post these as people often ask for a beautiful way to display a collection of photographs from a special moment in life. These smaller Queensberry albums can be finished in the same wide choice of fabrics and leathers as their larger versions. They make perfect albums for parent’s to remember their child’s wedding. I photographed these albums along with my families vintage Leica so the size can be compared with photographs of larger feature albums we posted here before.

All I could hear was the freshly fallen snow crunching as I walked

Here are some of my personal images of Ashridge, one of my favourite wedding venues. I took these earlier this week whilst the snow was still fresh and crunchy under foot. It is so nice to just walk around the grounds and admire the simply stunning architecture and gardens. Monday was so quiet all I could hear was the freshly fallen snow crunching as I walked and the occasional scurry of the Muntjac deer running around.
