Anis and Sarah at The manor of Groves

I had the great pleasure of photographing Sarah and Anis’s Wedding at The manor of Groves and Bishops Stortford register office last Sunday. The day started with everybody getting ready at The manor of Groves in High Whych before heading to Bishops Stortford register office in a luxurious Rolls Royce Phantom.

After the Ceremony everybody headed back to The Manor of Groves Colonnade Suite for the reception and photographs. As Dusk was starting to set in and I had my Elinchom Ranger RX lighting system at hand, I decided to take advantage of the dramatic sky, I have posted some of the results here.

During the evening all the guests where treated to a surprise guest appearance by James Argent aka “Arg” from the TV series “The Only way is Essex” who sang a few old Rat Pack tunes and after he joined in the dancing, daniella was over the moon!

Steve Jobs

It is with great sadness that I remember the innovation, vision and dedication to excellence exuded by Steve Jobs who passed away early today. Town and Country Photographic uses solely Apple Mac computers and his passing made me reflect on the way he changed the computer and technology world.

Steve Jobs was the inspiration for many of the innovations we now take for granted in today’s computing world and also the many successful Apple endeavors over the past 20 years.

His drive to push technology to its limits was commendable. Steve Jobs will be missed, but his legacy will live on.

With deepest condolences to the Jobs family and everyone at Apple.

Emma and William at Dusk

I had a wonderful day on Saturday (17th Sept), photographing Emma and William’s wedding. I have had the pleasure of knowing Emma and her Mother, Carole for some years through their play school, Kidz Cabin, which I photograph a couple of times a year. Emma and William where married in their parish church, St Mary’s Theydon Bois, before heading off to The Mulberry House Hotel in Ongar for a lavish reception. Everybody had a fabulous time despite dodging the showers!

Ayshea and William with Down Hall behind them. lit with an Elinchrom Ranger

Here is a quick peek of Ayshea and William’s images which I took on Sunday at the magnificent Down Hall. Ayshea looked simply divine in her figure hugging raw silk wedding gown and William cut a dashing figure in his morning suit. Ayshea chose blue as her colour theme and to keep to the “something Blue” tradition wore a fabulous pair of sparkly blue shoes! Unfortunatley the weather was not on our side and the rain chose to fall until dinner was called. so we chose to take the formal photographs inside, which is no hardship with Down Halls sumptuous rooms. After dinner the rain had stopped so we took some more dramatic portraits outside in the gardens using the low evening light and my Elinchrom Ranger flash units

There can be no better way to remember a glorious Ashridge Wedding than with beautiful photography presented in one of the world’s finest wedding album’s. Rachel and Andrew did just that. They chose a gorgeous Queensberry Feature wedding album finished in a classic chocolate leather which complimented their choice of ivory mounts. Their photographs were mounted to matching ivory pages. The overall effect is stunningly beautiful. I am sure their investment will bring them many years of happiness.

Jasmine

Here are some images from Jasmine and Darren’s recent wedding at Parklands Quendon Hall.

The saying goes it is lucky if it rains on your wedding day. As it happened the day started off a beautiful and sunny, so Jasmine and Darren planned to have their ceremony outside. However the clouds gradually moved in. Just after Jasmine and Darren said their lines and heard the second reading the clouds opened and everybody ran for cover. The rain certainly didn’t dampen anybodies spirits. We chose to take the bridle portraits upstairs on the on the landing and use the magnificent red wall and stairs as a background. After dinner the weather brightened up, so we took the opportunity before the speeches to take some more portraits using the beautiful warm evening light.

As I said before, the saying goes it is lucky if it rains on your wedding day. This is certainly the case for Jasmine and Darren who announced during the speeches that jasmine is expecting their first baby! We all wish them well with their forthcoming arrival.

Simon and Jemma get showered in Confetti on leaving church

I had a wonderful day last week at photographing Jemma and Simon’s wedding along with fellow photographer and old friend Len Dance. The day started early at Blake Hall where we photographed the preparations. I left before the bridal party to capture the Groom, his Best Man and Ushers waiting nervously at St Germain’s Church which was less than half a mile from Blake Hall. After the service confetti was frown in it’s abundance and we took a few smaller groups before heading back to Blake Hall where Len and I photographed the larger family group photographs and also the bridal portraits around Bale Hall’s beautiful gardens. During the evening all where treated to a superb band with dancing into the early hours.
