It was so good to catch up with Sarah and Lee last week and to have the privilege to photograph their first baby, Megan. It only seemed like yesterday I photographed Sarah and Lee’s wedding which was back in October 2007 at The Chichester Hotel in Wickford. I remember the day vividly, Lee arrived in a fantastic American Hot Rod while Sarah wore a totally cool pair of Ivory/white Converse, laced with purple ribbon. For me it’s always a pleasure to be asked back to photograph sessions like this, in effect I am continuing to record the family’s history, especially as Baby Megan loves to pose for the camera (just like her Mum really)!
Natalie and Jonathan’s wedding followed on the 13th December at Queens’ College, Cambridge. The day was especially important for Natalie as she studied here as a student. I really enjoyed taking the portraits of Natalie and Jonathan around the grounds, Natalie looked so elegant in her dress and Jonathan cut a very dashing look in tails.
The wedding of Louise and Dan followed Natalie and Jonathan’s at All Saint’s Church in Chigwell Row on 20th December. Their reception followed at Channels Golf Club in Chelmsford. Louise and Dan’s wedding was the first wedding I have photographed in snow for a number of years although it was bitterly cold the low winter light was sumptuous and the blanket of snow complimented Louise’s dress beautifully.
My last wedding to photograph of 2009 was on Boxing Day! Nicky and Alan chose to marry at Hanbury Manor. Their ceremony was in the Library in front of a roaring log fire and their reception was in the conservatory. It was so Christmassy! Everybody had a wonderful day. We chose t take the bridal portraits of Nicky and Alan inside as the rooms and panelling around Hanbury Manor lended themselves to a Christmas Wedding. Nicky Looked simply exquisite in her wedding dress and was helped all the way by her flower girl Ella!
Februarys’ meeting at The London Portrait Group will be slightly different. Respected portrait photographers, Peter Dyer, Len Dance and Saraya Cortaville will all be available to give constructive advice on how to improve your portraiture. You will have the opportunity to approach all of the above throughout the evening for an informal critique on a one to one basis (please bring no more than three images). As well as this we also have John King of Border Frames attending, John will be available for any advice on sales and marketing you may need, he is a regular speaker for the LPG, BIPP and MPA. Hopefully the evening will answer any photographic or sales related questions you have for the year ahead.
The meeting starts at 8pm sharp and we are at our usual venue, The Pin Wei Restaurant, 35 High Street, Abbots Langley WD5 0AA (zero AA) (http://www.pinweirestaurant.co.uk/). Don’t worry about eating before you leave home, join us for our customary pre talk dinner at 7pm, the food is simply superb.
Admission is £10.00 on the door, plus dinner if you choose to eat.

I thought I would post these images which I took of my Niece and Nephew over the weekend. It is difficult to comprehend just how quickly they grow up. Claudia really did not want to wear the beautiful gown she was in. However it’s the look on her face which makes the image of her so strong. Jamie on the other hand just wanted to look like a cool rapper!
I had a fabulous afternoon catching up with Nicky and Alan at Hanbury Manor a few weeks ago for their pre wedding photographs. The late afternoon autumnal light was simply stunning and we are all praying for the same on their Boxing Day Wedding!
I have just finished designing the album of Charlotte and Alex’s beautiful wedding at Ashridge, which took place in back in the Summer. Charlotte and Alex chose a spectacular Graphi Studio Album finished with a chrome photo-front cover.
